Adina Tsai 

Violin

From Taichung, Taiwan. Adina received her B.M and M.M in violin performance from New England Conservatory in Boston, and she also holds an Artist Diploma from San Francisco Academy Orchestra. Adina has appeared in several summer festivals including Yellow Barn Young Artist Program, Heifetz International Music Institute, Music Academy of the West, Spoleto Festival USA and Bard Music Festival. She has also performed with San Francisco Academy Orchestra, Merced Symphony Orchestra, One Found Sound Chamber Orchestra in the Bay Area, Boston Chamber Orchestra, Haffner Sinfonietta and Discovery Ensemble in Boston. Adina has taught in Amabile School of Music in San Francisco and has many years of private teaching experiences. She’s now in residence at The Orchestra Now at Bard College as a second year violin fellow.

Michael Rau 

Violin

From Newton, Iowa. Michael is in his second season with The Orchestra Now at Bard College where he’s actively appointed as a concertmaster. He received his Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from New England Conservatory. His teachers have included Jonathan Sturm, Almita Vamos, Paul Biss and Erica Kiesswetter. Michael has appeared in Interlochen Summer Arts Festival, Music Academy of the West and Pacific Music Festival. He has also performed with Discovery Ensemble and Atlantic Symphony Orchestra in Greater Boston Area. Michael is currently pursuing his Master’s degree in Curatorial, Critical and Performances Studies in The Orchestra Now at Bard College. He has also taught private lessons for several years, as well as associating with the NEC Prep school.

Chi Lee

Viola

Born in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. After studying in Hong Kong at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, she received her bachelor’s degree from Manhattan School of Music and her master’s degree from Rice University. She has performed in the Britten-Pears Young Artist Programme, Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, Kent/Blossom Music Festival, and the Asian Youth Orchestra. Most recently, she joined The Orchestra Now, in residence at Bard College. Chi has taught at the Amadeus Music School in New York and was awarded the Best Teacher Award from the KRB NY International Competition in 2012.

Lauren Peacock

Cello

A first year member of The Orchestra Now program at Bard College working on her Masters in Curatorial, Critical and Performances Studies. Before moving to New York, Lauren received a Masters in Cello Performance from The University of Texas at Austin where she studied with Bion Tsang and a Bachelors in Cello Performance from The University of Michigan where she studied with Richard Aaron. She has attended festivals all over the country including Aspen Music Festival, Colorado College Music Festival, Music Mountain Chamber Masterclasses, Chautauqua Music Festival, and Meadowmount School of Music. In addition to performing, she enjoys teaching cello and was part of the String Project program at the University of Texas at Austin.
